Zone Tax Offset (Remote Area Tax Offset)
A tax offset for Australian residents who live or work in remote or isolated parts of Australia for at least half the income year — recognising higher costs of living in remote areas.

What you get
Zone A offset: $338 base + 50% of any dependent spouse rebate. Zone B offset: $57 base + 20% of dependent spouse rebate. Special zone (most remote): $1,173 base. Claimed in your annual tax return.
